Toothbrush Care

Our mouths contain more than 100 species of bacteria, germs and viruses Рmost we are unaware of and hardly ever affect us, however there is one small, simple way of limiting the amount of bacteria entering the mouth.  With the proper toothbrush care, cleaning and replacement, everyone can be spared the unhealthy effects of bacteria in the mouth.

There are several recommended ways one can ensure toothbrush hygiene, keeping free from bacteria and germs:

  • Replace toothbrush every 3-4 months or when bristles become frayed with use

  • Store toothbrush away from other toothbrushes in an upright position allowing it to air dry

  • Do not cover toothbrush or store in a closed container; a moist environment can prompt germs to grow and spread

  • Rinse toothbrush of any remaining toothpaste or debris with cold tap water after every use

  • Do not share a toothbrush with anyone
